Democratic candidate Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are set for a final hectic day of campaigning as they both visit several states in an effort to rally support prior to the election.
McCain will visit seven states from east to west, from Florida to Arizona. Obama will speak in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.
Recent opinion polls suggest that Obama is ahead in the race for president, with some polls putting his lead as high as 11 points. McCain has had a difficult campaign, with many Americans suffering with debt problems, falling house prices and higher fuel and food costs – all of which has happened under the watch of Republican George Bush.
The global credit crunch and debt crisis may well have cost the Republicans the presidency and, on a historic day, given the world it’s first African American US president.
