I thought for a moment I was dreaming when I saw, amongst the reports of doom and gloom and mounting debt, a news article saying that red wine prices are falling! However, as I thirstily read on, I sadly realised that it wasn’t going to make quite the difference to me that I thought it might….
Indeed the prices are falling but, let’s face it, the fact that the price of a case of 12 bottles of 2005 Chateau Lafite Rothschild has dropped from £10,000 to £7,500 is hardly going to have much of an impact on the weekly grocery bill! The supermarket’s own brand claret will still have to do for now I guess! Cheers!
