Tiger Woods back playing golf sooner than first thought

According to Tiger Woods’ caddie and close friend, Steve Williams, the golfing legend may be back on the course sooner than first thought.

In an interview with an Australian newspaper, caddie Williams hinted as much. This was also intimated separately by another of Woods’ close friends.

During a now famous TV and press interview last week, where the golfer apologised for his misdemeanours, he did not give indications as to a return date when he would be back playing competitive golf on the tour.

In a vague statement he simply said: “I do plan to return to golf one day. I just don’t know when that day will be.”

He then went on to say: “I don’t rule out that it will be this year.”

However experts on the type of therapy Woods is currently undergoing treatment for, spoke out claiming it might be longer than he thinks until he is back swinging clubs on the pro tour.

An expert on this method of counselling said during a TV interview that in the United States this sort of therapy can take between three and five years.

Butch Harmon, Woods’s former coach, said that he did not expect Tiger Woods to be playing competitive golf again during 2010.

Tiger Woods will not be out of golf for three to five years. I will not be surprise if he plays The Masters this year. He’d play right now if the media would let him. He is trying to save and rebuld his marriage but he is also rebuilding his reputation as fast as he can and will return at the earliest moment possible and it won’t be three to five years. It won’t even be three to five months. He is playing the U.S. Open this year.

If TW is truly sorry and wants to prove to Elin that he will now be faithful to her, then he needs to clean house and end his association with the enablers–those who knew what he was doing and didn’t warn him and those who even helped him do it. Possibly that includes his caddy and manager. This action might help Elin realize that he truly is sincere. [But I'd be surprised if he did it.]

He can live without his wife.. but golf is in his blood. he could NEVER live without golf.
But he’s working to have both.. and thats how it should be. We want him to get a grip on his personal life.. but also.. selfishly even, we want him back out on the course.
