What is debt management, is it like a consolidation loan?

Debt management is not like a consolidation loan, we will not lend you any more money nor get you any further into debt. In fact in many cases the opposite is true. Your money management problems could be solved with a solution like a debt management plan. Debt Management is a flexible solution that gathers all of your unsecured debts together. With a debt management plan we will take over the management of all of your unsecured debts and, by negotiating with your lenders, help you to reduce your monthly payments and eventually clear your debts. We can in some cases get interest and charges frozen, reducing the amount you need to pay back each month and spreading the term over a longer period.

At Chiltern Debt Management, we will assess your income and outgoings to calculate what you can afford to pay. Then this is what you will pay, regardless of what you owe or what your current payments are. Debt management plans can be reassessed if your circumstances change, you are not tied to one amount for the entire term. We are licensed to give debt help to people who are finding it difficult to manage their debts and are now in need of professional debt advice. That advice is always impartial and in your best interest.

What is an IVA, is it better than Debt Management?

An IVA or Individual Voluntary Arrangement is similar to a Debt Management Plan, however, it has a fixed end date. It is also legally binding, and takes longer to get in place, however, our experts boast one of the shortest assessment times in the industry. We average only six weeks to get to a meeting with all of your creditors to assess the validity of the IVA case. To speak to one of our experts now in order to find out if you could qualify for an IVA or if you would be better off with a Debt Management Plan, please call now on 0800 043 2332 or ask for a FREE call back by filling in your information on the form on this page.

What would make me qualify for an IVA as opposed to a Debt Management Plan?

If you have debts that are over £10,000 then an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) may be the right solution for you. At Chiltern Debt Management we provide IVA help and advice for clients with larger debts. Through our Insolvency Practitioners, The Debt People, we are licensed to arrange an IVA on your behalf. An IVA is a programme that will allow you to replace all of your unsecured debts with a single monthly payment over a fixed period, usually 60 months. At the end of the IVA your unsecured debts will be written off and you will be debt free.

To speak to one of our trained advisers for IVA advice call on 0800 043 2332 or ask for a FREE call back by filling in your information on the form on this page. For more information on IVA help click on this IVA link.
